Our project experiences individually, and as a team, touch nearly every aspect of the energy community, from facility design and pipeline construction to handling the most routine RFPs and negotiations with project suppliers for our clients. RCI is a valuable member to any team. Our project managers and inspectors have extensive experience in all aspects of onshore, offshore and industrial construction, from grassroots mid-continent gas and liquids processing and compression facilities to the energy industry’s maintenance, expansion and turnaround projects. We routinely handle field development projects including field development concept planning, overseeing the detailed engineering efforts, and providing management of the fabrication and installation of the facility, structure and pipelines. RCI is also involved in the continued maintenance operations and decommissioning and salvage efforts at the end of the facility’s life.

Onshore Facilities

RCI provides expertise to ensure your shallow water projects are managed efficiently and cost effectively. Shallow water projects have their own unique challenges. Equipment is often limited, not only in supply, but often in capacity, and frequently there are numerous regulations and regulatory agencies with which to comply because these waters are often in close proximity to the public. Consideration needs to be given to development costs as well as to the operational and maintenance costs of the field throughout the life of the prospect to ensure you maintain a profitable project. Eventual abandonment costs must be considered so your company complies with FASB 143 in accounting for the true cost for your project’s development. We understand the technology needed to exploit these areas and work with you to make sure your projects in this specialized environment are successful.

Williams Field Services – MP 261 Canyon Station

Design consultation and review, project management and inspection services for all aspects of this project, Williams’ first process facility in the Gulf of Mexico.

Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation – Lake Pelto

Project management and inspection services for onshore refurbishment and offshore installation of a replacement structure. The original facility was severely damaged when hit by a cargo barge.

Iroquois Gas Transmission – Long Island Sound

Design consultation, project management and inspection associated with a spool piece re-route of a 24" pipeline around the "Y-49" power cable crossing in Long Island Sound, New York.

Williams – GA A244 “A”

Design consultation, project management and inspection services for an "A" junction platform, a 4-legged, 4-skirt pile jacket set in a water depth of 363' with a 3-level deck.

The Houston Exploration Company – MI A5

Design consultation, project management cost tracking and inspection associated with the fabrication of a tripod jacket and refurbishment of a 15MMscf/day production deck.

Anglo-Suisse Texas Offshore Partners – MI 632/656

Construction and installation of four caissons in the MI 656 and 632 areas, tying in all production to either the existing MI 657 “B” platform or MI 632 “A” platform.

Newfield Exp. Co. – EI 318 “A” Development – 240FS

Refurbishment of the existing WD 102 “G” tripod jacket and deck to be used in a two-well development at EI 318 in 240’ of water.

Chevron Hurricane Restoration Team, GOM

RCI’s in-house project management group spearheaded the Chevron Hurricane Restoration Team efforts in the Gulf of Mexico.

Iroquois – Eastchester Scour Remediation

Project management and inspection associated with determination of quantity and extent of soil scour around and under the 24" pipeline system crossing in Long Island Sound, New York.

Total – Virgo Facility Repair

Due to severe damage to facilities from Hurricanes Ivan and Rita, RCI provided project management and inspection services on both occasions, with the goal of timely and safe repair to bring this critical facility back into production.

Anglo-Suisse – WD 117 Development

Design consultation, project management and inspection associated with the WD 117-H jacket, deck and pipelines.

BHP Trinidad – Ruby Development

RCI provided the majority of the construction support and inspection team supplying multi-disciplined local personnel at a number of the project work sites.

RCI has been involved in numerous deepwater projects to include major floating facilities, hulls and pipelines. We have been a part of many industry firsts and understand the unique challenges faced and the cost risk associated with these major projects. Deepwater projects are an everyday part of our business. Williams Field Services – Boomvang/Nansen

In the Gulf of Mexico, approximately 150 miles south of Houston, both Nansen and Boomvang were developed with the world's first truss SPARs, replacing the lower cylindrical hull in order to reduce weight and cost.

Daewoo – Chevron Texaco Benguela-Belize Tower

Project management and technical consulting services for fabrication of the compliant tower structure, template and piles for the project at the Kiewit and Gulf Marine Fabricators yards in Ingleside, Texas.

Anadarko Petroleum / Enterprise – Marco Polo

RCI Project engineers and project field coordinators worked on two of Anadarko's subsea developments in approximately 4,100' of water to tie them back to the Marco Polo Facility in approximately 4,300' of water.

Total/BP/Marathon – Canyon Express

Canyon Express was comprised of several companies that made a decision to produce three marginal fields through one subsea piggable pipeline loop to a new build host facility. The water depth of these fields ranged from 6,600' to 7,200'. Williams was selected to fabricate, install, and operate the Host Facility.

Williams Field Services – Tahiti & Blind Faith

These projects were part of the major expansions to the Discovery system with Williams' Tahiti pipeline project for Chevron's Tahiti discovery in the central region; and installation of export oil and gas pipelines for Chevron's Blind Faith discovery in the eastern region in Mississippi Canyon blocks 695 and 696.

Petrobras – Chinook / Cascade

Located approximately 180 miles south of the Louisiana coast, these fields were initially developed with two subsea wells in Cascade and one subsea well in Chinook. The FPSO features a disconnectable turret buoy (allowing it to be moved offsite during severe weather events) and is moored by a polyester mooring system linked to torpedo piles and vertically loaded anchors.

Petrobras – Cottonwood SSTB

Petrobras's first subsea development project in the Gulf of Mexico and also the first field in deep waters developed and put into production by Petrobras, as operator, outside Brazil.

RCI has a strong background in onshore projects such as major new build plants, expansions, small metering and pumping stations as well as pipelines. We have worked throughout the US, including the mountain states and Northeast, as well as in the Permian, Eagle Ford and San Juan basins. In order to reduce downtime, our experienced onshore managers and engineers work to ensure that our customer’s projects come together in a professional and timely manner. The diverse backgrounds of our staff members include expertise in costing and scheduling, construction management and oversight, scheduling and expediting, and vendor surveillance and inspection. RCI provided the complete site management and inspection team for Chevron Pipeline’s Port Arthur Line Optimization Project (PALO).

Mentone

RCI provided the complete site management and inspection team for Anadarko’s 400MMcFD newbuild plant in Mentone, TX.

Teppco – Ship Channel Crossing – Crystal Bay

Design consultation and review, project management and inspection services for all aspects of this project.

Enbridge Energy – Johnson Bayou – Turbine R&R

Design consultation, project management and inspection for the multiphase replacement/refurbishment of four Solar Centaur 30 recuperated type turbines with Solar Centaur 40 simple cycle and SoloNox turbines.

Enbridge Energy – Stingray Plant Repairs

The Stingray gas processing plant in Johnson’s Bayou was severely damaged during Hurricane Rita, with storm surge damaging all I&E components and causing severe structural and processing equipment damage.

Teppco – Sedgwick, Arkansas Murphy Oil Connection

Project management and quality control services for the design, engineering and construction of a 16” diameter 4,000-foot lateral line extending from the TEPPCO P6 and P62, 16” and 20” product transmission lines to deliver up to 10,000 barrels/hour of gasoline, diesel and jet fuel to an existing Murphy Oil storage facility.

Enbridge Energy – Zybach Plant Shutdown

Instrumental in planning and executing a planned shutdown of the facility to facilitate various maintenance operations.

bpTT – 42 Inch Pipeline Evaluation

Inspection and assessment services on a 42-inch pipeline road crossing.

bpTT Seismic & Structural Walkdown Assessment

Conducted a seismic walk-through assessment of bpTT’s Galeota and Beachfield facilities in the act of assessing the seismic preparedness of the terminals.

Williams – Markham Plant Expansion

Onsite inspection services, HSE representation and document control on this plant expansion.

DCP – Carthage – East Texas Complex Expansion

On-site project management, inspection and HSE representation on the DCP Midstream Carthage plant expansion, which underwent multiple upgrades while remaining in operation.

Virginia Natural Gas – Hampton Roads Crossing

Inspection and consultation associated with a 24" pipeline crossing of the Hampton Roads Harbor utilizing five horizontal directional drilled segments.

bpTT Sheet Pile Wall

This onshore oil and gas-receiving terminal at Galeota Point is located on the southeastern tip of the island of Trinidad. The facility is bordered on its eastern side by the Atlantic Ocean, a narrow beach and a sheet pile wall. Erosion activity was impacting the integrity of the wall and repair options were identified.
